Multiple OS
What number of server Operating Systems will you be able to choose from?
An Operating System is the software which communicates with the hardware of a computer system and serves as the intermediary between all the applications and the hardware, including peripheral devices such as a printer, a computer mouse or a keyboard. When you run an app, it transmits requests to the OS through an API (Application Program Interface) and the interaction is done through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Just like a personal computer, web hosting servers also feature an Operating System which serves as a host for all of the software installed on them, including script apps or server-side software such as a flash server, a VOIP server, etc. A virtual machine can be created on a physical one, so it is possible to install a guest OS on it and have a different system environment in contrast to the physical server host Operating System.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers
We offer as many as three different Linux distributions for the Operating System of our
VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are some of the most stable and reliable OSs available and we supply all 3 rather than only 1 as we realize that you might want to set up some software that has specific requirements regarding the Operating System it shall run on. The latter is due to the fact that each of the three Operating Systems has a huge support community behind it and there're different software programs you can install on the server. Your OS choice will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be installed on the VPS in case you wish to use one and because of this we offer multiple Control Panels as well. If you ever decide that you need a different OS, our technical support can quickly wipe the existing one and install the one that you need. We also offer an optional service to maintain the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers
In case you decide to acquire one of our
dedicated servers, you will find three Operating Systems on the order page because we want to give you a larger choice with regard to the system environment on the server as different applications can have particular requirements. CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian include different modules developed by their huge support communities, so you can select any of these OSs and take advantage of a stable and safe hosting service. Based on your decision, you'll also have different Control Panels to choose from. Needless to say, we can always change the Operating System in case the one you've selected at first doesn't meet the requirements of the software that you intend to run. We can also update your OS routinely to keep it as secure as possible through our Managed Services upgrade package.
