Established in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are famous by. At first, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to purchase john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken third-level domains remained functional.

Through our company, you can reserve your dot NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no particular regulations on who can secure a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
